AC Shadows Reveals Unexpected Attack on Titan Crossover for Holiday Season
In a surprising crossover event that challenges usual expectations, the game developer has revealed an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, including free bonus story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Questline Uncovered
According to the formal release, "A strange encounter draws characters Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh quest, where hints of banned ceremonies and terrifying changes echo through the shadows." The plot introduces a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a important location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a clandestine group.
The questline focuses on "bizarre trials and a terrifying adversary" and is open to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Familiar Settings and Changes
The trailer features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This important location was formerly where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through generations. The trailer ends with a dramatic scene showing a character, likely the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Items and Extra Material
Players who finish the mission will receive an exclusive katana alongside multiple items concealed throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also features purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-inspired outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Special arms
- Survey Corps steed
Latest Free Story Addition
This patch also introduces the game's third complimentary story content, titled "The Mystery." This playful quest pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange distinctive abilities: Naoe reveals a performative version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-fatal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also features a original environmental puzzle that may ultimately clarify some lingering questions from the main storyline.
