Around 25,000 households in south-east Queensland woke up without power on Monday's dawn after severe thunderstorms swept through the area, generating powerful gusts topping over 100 km/h.
Large Hailstones and Widespread Impact
Locals observed large ice chunks reaching sizes of 7cm in particular locations. Meteorological experts announced that different parts across Queensland had been hit with substantial ice precipitation.

Victoria's Storm Challenges
Meanwhile, around 1,000 energy customers in Victoria also faced energy failures after the metropolitan area recorded its most precipitation in 18 months.
Rescue organizations handled over five hundred requests for assistance across the area, primarily for property damage but also for downed trees and inundation.

Humid circumstances were expected to linger along large portions of Queensland's east this next several days as a weather pattern continued to pull in damp air against the shoreline.
The following day was predicted as the wettest day, with ongoing severe weather risk predicted across different parts of both regions.

Medical authorities warned that there was an greater possibility of weather-related respiratory issues across the countryside regions, specifically given the existing atmospheric conditions.
